You can give yourself genital herpes if you scratch a cold sore and then scratch your crotch, so keep your hands away from any sores and if you feel the need to scratch or touch, make sure you wash after touching them. That goes for anywhere on the body, if the virus finds a way in it's gonna take up permanent residence in that area.

Yes, which is why you should not do oral sex without a dental dam (or cutup a glove and cover over). And, so why did you do such a dumb thing?

I've never understood by people with cold sores hover around people, or continue working on a job around food or around a lot of people, and I've never understood why people don't just tell that person to go away and don't come back till the nasty sore is either covered or gone. I have a friend who is so stupid (and he's done grad school too) he can't figure out that he can spread his cold sores to someone else during sex. He won't accept it as an effin fact. Cold sores are just as infectious as the genital strain of herpes. Go see a doctor and get a blood test to be sure. Most of us have the cold sore strain, unfortunately, but you don't want to get yet another strain, do you? so don't drink from that idiot again. And assume that you shouldn't be kissing or licking everyone who sails by you, please?

If the person have oral infection of Herpes it is transmitted.
