If you exercise at the same rate in the cold or hot, but sweat more in the heat, do you loose more weight?
Question:
Answers:
When one sweats its just excess body fluids flowing out, nothin to do with permanent weight loss but since there is a water loss, you loose weight temporarily.
However excess water loss triggers off a body defence mechanism to prevent water shortage, and the body starts storing a lot of water (known as water retention) and you appear bulky.
But still working out in a hot environment is beneficial as high temprature makes your body flexible and your exercise routine more effective.
Also if you plan to work out in hot weather it is advisable to have a copious amount of water.
Other Answers:
No. If you workout hard enough and cause a sweat in an air conditioned gym, you are getting what you came for. The fact that you could sweat more in a higher heat environment doesnt do anything different besides cause you to lose more water. That means also losing more electrolytes which can cause you to burn out faster because of light headedness, nausea, and overall fatigue.
A good workout in the gym is the best way to go. Your body will directly respond to your environment, if you are in the outside heat , your body will simply just give out quicker due to fatigue. The best workout would be inside at the gym.
Excess sweat loss does not mean fat loss. Sweat is water and no more, no less.
