Nerve damage cont..?
Question:
Answers:
If I were you, I would ask the blood bank for the name of their insurance carrier, and submit a claim. And if they refuse to tell you, file a lawsuit against them. Then they will refer it to their insurance carrier, and you will know who it is. Seven months of pain is NOT an insignificant injury, nor is the loss of normal function in your thumb!
Other Answers:
all i can say is that a nerve cell takes about 100 years to growback
go to a non related physcian, one not attached to those whom did the stick tell him whats going on,and what happened.
may be a piece of a cath broke off, or a cut nerve.if it was a venous stick nreve damage shouldnt have occured. if arterial then questions need asked.
from donating blood it is venous, therefor continued pain should be from a broke off article left in the arm.
or there has been other damage resembling a possible dvt
so go to a dr not affiliated with the donation, let it be checked, before more problems arise
i have no idea but i feel sorry for u =(
i have had nerve damage before and it can take up to a year to heal.the neurologist who worked with me explained that it can take this long to fully heal because nerves are so complex and they don't heal as quickly as other cells in the body. i am sorry to hear of your trouble. do some physical therapy for your thumb so that you do not lose any more muscle mass. by working with it, you will regain your muscle tone. take care!
Quit worrying about the compensation, if there is any, and get to a doctor NOW, which you should have done when you noticed the pain didn't go away with in a short time. I think keeping mobility would be a bit more important than getting money here. Besides, the damage may not have been from the needle.
