should a 14 year old kid be on a diet?
Question:
Answers:
If their weight is a health issue, then yes, a properly supervised diet and exercise program is okay. I would also advise that the child get counseling as they need to find out why they are overweight in the first place and learn better habits. If they are 5 pounds overweight or something, then NO. I'd say just get them up and away from the TV and PC. Good luck.
Other Answers:
If they are over weight and dieting properly it should be fine
If the kids overweight and is directed by a doctor. Otherwise, if the kids not overweight than no.
NO ARE YOU CRAZY WHO EVER YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT COULD DIE, GO TO THE HOSPITAL OR WORSE!!1
Well, I would say no, but there are exceptions. If you are overweight I would consider talking to a doctor or personal trainer about losing some weight. Otherwise I would shy away from diets without the right supervision. The reason why is because you can hurt yourself without proper nutrition, become underweight, or deplete your immune system (makes you sick). Just try to be more active, go out to recess if you can, and don't sit in front of the TV for hours on end. Also make sure you are getting wholesome and healthy foods, follow the food pyramid and eat lots of veggies instead of chips or cookies. What I do is go outside a lot and complete a daily workout. This doesn't mean lifting 100lb weights or joining a gym. I just do some cardio (running) and then do a workout with light weights and workout ball. Lastly, don't let your friends or bullies pick on you if you are overweight. They can be mighty cruel (I know) but don't let them get you into a "fad" or starvation diet where you could hurt yourself.

I am a 14-year old on a high protein diet for body building and complete daily workouts with a personal trainer.
It really depends. People go on diets for many reasons, to lose weight, to gain weight, to maintain overall health. Now, if your 14-year old is already a healthy weight, and is looking to lose more weight, then that's not necessarily a good thing. However, if he/she is overweight and is just looking to lose a few pounds, that's probably fine. Or, if they are wanting to bulk up, sometimes people diet for that reason too. It all depends on if the goals are reasonable.
There are certain calorie and nutrition requirements for growing bodies that need to be met. You can go to http://www.mypyramid.gov/ and enter in your information to find out personalized nutrition needs.
The 14-year old that dieting means just eating a certain way (for example, eating healthier foods, etc.). It doesn't mean starving yourself.
In reality we are ALL on somekind of diet. Maybe its seafood, vegetarian, hunger or starvation diet. What I am saying is that we feed our body our body doesn't feed us. We choose what to eat, how often and how much. If the body is feed good nutrion it either gets healthy or stays healthy.
Diets start from the day you enter the world and change as you grow depending on your body needs. Adolecents is a tuff stage and for those who have gone through it can remeber so quickley. Sometimes a change in diet, weight and apperance can be either a trend among peers, mental conflict with apperance or a physical reason. All of these could be the reason for weight gain or loss.
I have a 13yrs old granson who lives with me. Both of us have been on Herbalife. This offers good nutrition and depending on your need(s) one can loose, gain or maintian his or her weight. It consists of three mulivitians a day, 1,2,or 3, shakes a day depending on your goal and 1 meal a day. One of the first things we both noticied was how energentic and healthy we looked after 1 month. There are many variations that can be made to meet your goal.
As for your 14yrs old it is probally the best age to get him or her started on GOOD NUTRITION! If the body feels good it will help build his self-esteem and stamia.

Good-luck
seriously, that person, be it you or a friend, needs to put down the controller and go outside and play. the best way to stay in shape in not by relaxing and dieting, but rather eating whatever you want and spontaneous motion. you wanna go to a friend's house? bike there. free time? go out and play? it's raining? go play anyway- you rarely die from pneumonia. so no, that kid should not be dieting because frankly, no one- no matter what age you are- should be dieting.
