why is my left eye twitching continuosly?

Question:

Answers:
Eyelid twitches/spasms are generally caused by muscle fatigue. It may be due to eye strain from such conditions as poor lighting, lack of sleep, undiagnosed vision problem or a need for a new lens prescription. Potassium, as in bananas, is a better treatment for muscle spasms (and cramping) than calcium because while calcium helps regulate muscle contraction, potassium helps regulate both muscle contraction AND muscle excitability.

your eyes do this when the above happens..

Something's pinching a nerve. You need a massage, and you probably need to stay off of caffeine.

Could be too much time on the pc effecting the nerve endings in your eyes.

Try this, go and get a roll of TUMS or other calcium containing antacids. Eat about six of them, as quickly as you can choke them down. Within about 20 minutes the tic should significantly diminish or disappear altogether. In order for a muscle fiber to relax, it needs ionized calcium to enter the sarcomere. Most of the calcium in our bodies is within bones or bound to albumin, that is why you need a bolus, to ensure that ionized calcium is available.

I came upon this quite by accident a few years ago, and everyone I recommend it to swears by it. Two days ago, my seven year old awoke with leg cramps, we gave her two chocolate flavored soft chewable calcium tabs, and poof, gone. She has no memory of the event.

CAUTION: Do not try this method if you have had kidney stones before or have diminished renal function.
