Sounds like an infection in your lungs. Better see a doctor for that me dear.
It's overproduction of the bronchial tree epithelial mucus glands ,stimulated by most of all infective agents or things like smoking, smog ,.also a defense mechanism, best overcome by inhalation
I've coughed up mucus for ages and I've ended up with C.O.P.D. the doctors told me that it only occurs with smoking, which I have for 20 years, so now I've stopped..so if you smoke go see your doctor and if you dont.well I dont know.
