what is the advantage of putting on tanning lotion in the indoor tanning bed? Is it necessary?

Question:

Answers:
I have to use lotion. Without lotion my skin will completely dry out--even if I moisturize. I also don't tan as well without lotion. So, I spend money on the expensive lotion, but I don't have to tan as often, and I don't have to put up with really dry skin. So, for me, it's necessary!

Other Answers:
in my honest opinion, tanning lotion is a waste of money (but I tan easily) Many contain bronzers and then you get that beautiful orange look that so many fake bakers get--so be sure to use a bronzer if thats the look you are going for. If they don't have a bronzer, then they are a moisturizer and you can get that from regular body lotions/hand lotions. They might also contain an ingredient to "rough up" your skin and allow it to take on the tan better and this can also be achieved by using a loofah in the shower and keeping your dead skin cells rubbed off. I'll bet you must be wondering by now if I am a representative of a tanning lotion company?!? Like I said before, just my opinion, but they are a waste of money.

Ive tanned for years and I can say its not necessary, you will tan reguardless, but I think you get a more even tan if you use tanning lotion, you also dont have to buy the $60.00 a bottle lotions I get this stuff made from Hemp in a triangle shape bottle for like $20.00. They have some with a bronzer in it too, it just depends on your preference, the bronzer just makes you look like you have a little more tan than what you really have. I use the bronzer if I am going out somewhere showing skin, that way my skin has a glow to it.
