Don't you just LOVE people telling you you're too old for this and that? Don't believe them, honey.its something I've wanted for a LONG time too, unfortunately, like you, my job at the moment keeps me from getting one of those teeiny piercings to use a tiny diamond stud in! Ah well..someday soon for sure!
You go ahead and do what YOU want. If it's what you want, don't worry about what anyone else's opinion is! Like me, you're definitely old enough to know what you want, when you want and have the ability to do as you please! I say, do it, and have fun now that you're out of the corporate world!
PS.I'm 49 in October..just so you know I'm not a youngun!

Get a tatto instead. You can cover it up, and it can express some sentiment, instead of a nose pierce that will clearly make people think you are kinky or having a major midlife crisis.
My first response was: ewwwwwww! But ya know, who gives a darned what you do? You really want to pierce your nose? Then do it! If you regret it after doing it, what's the worst thing that's going to happen? Take it out and let the hole heal closed.

NO NO and NO!! It is so cute when ppl have a little diamond stud in their nose, and 51 is not too old to get that done. The first person who answered this is disfigured themselves! It doesnt disfigure you in any way means. I have mine done, plus many more. Dont worry about, its not like you are getting something really noticable done like a lip or eyebrow. Go for it!
Do what you want! it doesn't matter how old you are. First of all it's not like a tatoo, if you don't like it just take it out and it will grow back. Also, they have the clear plugs you can put in it, and you can't tell when you wear it. So if you don't want to wear it at work, you don't have to.
Hell no are you kidding me? I persuaded my 67 yr old grandmother into getting her bellybutton peirced and wearing thongs. the only thing i think your a little too old for,-is the Mcdonalds playplace. If its something you've wanted to do adn still want to do, why are you sitting at the computer asking?! get off your butt right now and go do it! and don't chicken out it dosent hurt , and if you dont like it the worst thing that is going to happen is you'll take it out.

NO getting to any certain age doesn't mean you have to stop living and enjoy your interest get that piercing if you want it

i say do it and see if its something that looks good on you, but try it out around the house first.
i am 21 and never really planed to pierce my nose, even though people have said it would look good on me, i just don't feel the need. and i'm too scared to pierce my tounge too :p maybe someday i'll try it but not right now.

I would advise that you talk to a health care professional about the risks involved. The body is less able to heal after injury as we age. (I know you're not thinking of a piercing as an injury but there is a healing process that must take place.) Best wishes whatever you decide.
Why not? I have my nose pierced and have had women older than my grandmother ask me all sorts of questions about it including local studios that they can get pierced at!
