Is it fever helpful to the immune system ? Are there any cases?
Question:
Answers:
A fever is a response by the immune system, and yes it is very helpful. This is not just my opinion, it is factual, learned in college. A low grade fever is beneficial because the body is raising its body temperature to kill any invading viruses and/or bacteria. You don't always want to run to the medicine cabinet to get rid of a fever, because then you are defeating the whole purpose.
That said, a high fever can be dangerous. In adults, anything over 101 F is cause for alarm. Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and aspirin (only in adults) can lower the fever. If the fever is above 104 in adults, I would recommend a visit to ER.
Doesn't the pharmacist know this information? I sure hope so.
