I'm trying to quit smoking, does anyone have any tips on how to fight the withdrawl?


When I try to quit, I always crash and burn because I just want to curl up in a hole until the initial withdrawl backs off/ Problem is I can't , I have 3 small kids to take care of and so I need ideas on how to function semi-normal those first couple weeks.

Just take it one day, one hour, one minute, one second at a time. Smoking is tough to kick, I know. Just think of the cancer, emphysema and other ailments you'll be avoiding when you quit. Keep thinking of those three little ones that need you. Some of the things you do may trigger your urge to smoke, like drinking or after a meal. Try to avoid these circumstances or substitute an alternative action like gum chewing. They say the patch works. Hypnotism worked for me the second time around. Whatever you do, don't quit quitting. Well if your planning to quit cold turkey it is goind to be difficult, what worked for me and this might sound strange but I started exercising doing aerobics like 15 minutes a day which helps you by giving you endorphins and sometimes I drank coffee or tea to help me when the withdrawls were the worst. Good luck and you might also want to join an online support group.
