Is anyone interested in becoming a more healthy person?


The recommendation for fruits and vegetables is now 9-13 servings per day. Does anyone really eat that much every day?? If not would you be open to some ideas of how to receive the nutrients from 17 fruit, vegetables and grains every day?

well.I am trying. I take a vitamin/mineral supplement. I try and eat more fruit. And I only have whole grain stuff. Oh..and I try to eat more raw veggies..or flash cooked ones, so that I get those good nutrients out of them. I go to Jamba Juice more often now too. They now offer these "all fruit" drinks.which..if you drink the original size of these, you will get 5 servings of fruit. YUM. :)

Oh yeah I would! I really want to be a healthier person for my sake and for the sake of my future family. The only problem is I can't ever find the facts I need to learn. I need to know what I am doing wrong, what to change, and how to have time to do it all. And with no money in the wallet, seems I can't find those things. If there were a source that could tell me all of these things and more.. I would read it over every day.

I take vitamin tablets and drink at least a liter of smoothies which are 100% fruit (without concentrate etc) every day so that should cover it :-)

I try to eat as many fruits and veggies as I can.
Good ways to sneak more fruits and veggies in :
-Make an all fruit smoothie. They also have these at Jamba Juice now
-Steam some veggies, like broccoli and squash and carrots and eat with rice
- Make a veggie pizza
-Add fruit to your cereal, pancakes or waffles
-Replace junk food snacks with dried fruit, carrots and ranch dressing, celery and peanut butter..etc..

9-13 servings - well that's a lot of food to eat. For good health look up the kind of calories required as per your life style and ensure a healthy mix of carbs, proteins and fat in the ration of 70:20:10 if u r body building then proteins reqd r very high. Nuts - almonds & pisatchio, pecans etc. are a good source for balancing your diet along with fresh seasonal fruit .Vitamin supplements as prescribed by your doc can take of most deficienies in your daily food intake
