Can you give anti-diarrhea medicine to an adult with rotavirus?

My husband has this now, and we aren't sure what we can and can not do about it.

How long should he wear a sling for?

Answers:
If the diarrhea does not include fever or blood, you can use antimotility drugs such as loperamide (Imodium) or diphenoxylate (Lomotil). Only if there's dysentery that contains fever the drug is not recommended, since it may exacerbate or prolong the disease.

The dose of loperamide is two tablets (4 mg) initially, then 2 mg after each unformed stool, not to exceed 16 mg/day for up to two days.
The dose of diphenoxylate is two tablets (4 mg) 4 times a day for up to two days.
