This is a very open question whose answer depends on the condition that makes the baby "very sick".if you're talking about a condition where the baby will die either late in pregnancy or very shortly after birth (as from some kinds of genetic anomalies or severe brain defects), then abortion would not be a wrong choice if that's what the mother wanted, to spare the heartache of watching a baby die after birth. If you're talking about a condition where the baby could be treated after birth and has at least some chance for a happy life, then that's a different story altogether. It's what they call a slippery slope argument, one that has caused uproar in many disability communities, human rights groups, etc., etc. There isn't a "right" or "wrong" answer that won't offend someone, somewhere. Personally, because of my own background, I would NOT have an abortion because the baby had a problem, unless it was something COMPLETELY incompatible with a happy life.

look at the risks to you. personally i wouldn't but i know i wouldn't be able to live with the guilt. i knew a person that was in a bad situation and aborted and she is fine with it. she didn't want to put her nborn child through a unhealthy painful life. it dos make sence. make sure you know all the risks for either case. money can even be a factor paying for hospital visits and so on. talk to a doctor.Can there be any serious complication when i use the iud mirena?
