If my DHEA vitamins are expired; can I still take them without them being hazardous to my health?

Question:

Answers:
It is not advised to take any medication that has expired, It's just not a smart thing to do. It's like eating rotten food, just think about it. Please read this letter written by a doctor in responce to why it is bad to take ANY medications that is expired.

"Like food, medications have expiration dates. This means that when stored under the proper conditions of light, heat, temperature and moisture, medications will be effective and safe until the expiration date. After the expiration date, medications may deteriorate and not work as intended and may even be harmful. If not stored under the proper conditions, medications actually may expire before the expiration date. Using expired medications is similar to eating spoiled food.."

"Medications are safe until their expiration date. After this time, they can deteriorate and do not work or can be harmful. Medicine (over-the-counter and prescribed) can become poisonous when it ages and result in death. If not stored properly, medications can expire before the expiration date. When air, humidity, heat, or sunlight makes contact with medications, they can be altered regardless of expiration date.."

Meaning that the you can never really know when it expired. And why risk it. Yeah the meds you are talking about are suposed to help with aging and weight but why risk it. That next expired pill you take may be your last. There have been cases of people taking vitamins and dying because they took an excess of them and because they are expired. When things expire they collect bacteria just like any dying organisim. Think thrice before doing so.
