You need to go to your doc. There are meds called mood stabilizers that can help. Do not try to tackle this on your own. Bi-polar is a very serious condition. My brother is bi-polar and I have dealt with it for many years. He chooses to self medicate with pot, which is not good, but is afraid to go to a MD.i think the best thing for you is to get help asap and get on some medication. you need it if you are having really high highs and low lowes. i have went through depression most of my life. and after i had my baby which he is 11 months i had postpartum depression. i am on medication for my depression. if you need someone to talk to. you can talk to me. but the best thing is to get help this way you learn how to deal with your bi polar.hope this helps you.
Robitussin, Sudafed, nothing works! Can anybody recommend a good cold rememdy that actually works?
Exercise and eating healthy. You have to be consist ant. Getting some hobbies can also help. When i start getting down i exercise to Denise Austin and walk on my treadmill. Instead of eating all the junk food i eat very healthy. Before this i wouldn't get out of bed. Oh and do nice things for yourself. If this cant help you then you will probably need some antidepressants.Source(s):

how many surgeons do rhinoplasty in USA?
you should definitely see a healthcare professional about that.i went through those same kinds of mood swings.and was diagnosed with bipolar type 2 and prescribed lithium (which is a mood stabilizer and antimanic agent).it helps me quite a lot.you may consider asking your doctor about it because i know from experience, those mood swings suck.especially when you cant figure out any reason why your having them.jack
Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness, so you definately need the help of a mental health professional. The good news is that there is such a thing as wellness and recovery when it comes to such an illness. But, you need to do the right things to get to that point. Medication is important, but the support of others who have dealt successfully with this illness will help a lot. I recommend that you try to find a peer support group. NAMI or Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance might provide leads.
having surgery soon..it says not to take asprin 2 wks before does that include hydrocodone?
Get help. Psychiatrist for medications to keep you in the middle, w/o so many highs and lows. Support group so you know you're not alone. (online support as well as in person groups, are available) A therapist, to help you process and understand the condition, its effects on your daily life and relationships, and how to live well.It can only be diagnosed by a psychiatrist. Some people throw around psychiatric diagnoses when they're teasing; but the real deal is a big deal and if you are bipolar, you do need help.
As one more respondant said, it is a serious, in fact very serious disease that needs treatment.
Finally it is NOT your FAULT! When you get to feeling a little more stable, you can check out websites like National Alliance for Mentally Ill (NAMI), Web MD, Psychology Today's website, etc. Bipolar illness is chemically based, can run in families, and is not your fault!! Just get the good info, the medication, the support, so you can live safely and well.

I am bi-polar, a rapid cycler which means I do what you do but on an hourly basis. It may take a while to find the right meds but when they do you will feel better. It is easy for everyone else to say snap out of it or go exercise or get a hobby but when you are lying in bed crying, feeling worthless and guilt ridden the last thing on your mind is looking at someone elses perfect body on a treadmill or crocheting a damn doiley. If you're anything like me you hibernate until it's over. People say that's not healthy but sometimes you have to deal with certain issues on your own and then sometimes you need to know when to let people in to help you. None of this is your fault no more than it's a diabetic's fault they have diabetes. You need mood stabilizers and they take a while to get into your system and work however the quality of life is so much better. You can't just take an anti-depressant you need something for the mania too. See a dr. get some meds, talk to a close friend, and don't beat yourself up over this. Hang in there. The rollercoaster will stop, it will never let you off, but it will stop and let you rest.
can taking the antidepressant nortriptylene cause a false positive in drug testing?
Well you can see a Doctor or Psychologist and they have a lot of treatments and meds. Or you can also see your family Doctor (They are way cheaper and I think help more! lol) But also walking or getting some sort of exercise for 30-45 min. a day really can make the difference. it will allow chemicals to go off in your brain which make you feel happy, relaxed and GOOD! Well good luck and give it a TRY!How can I determine the gender of my baby?
Take heart, there is a way to control Bi-polar and not being so rough on yourself is a good start. I understand it's frustrating, but take that frustration and focus into controlling your disorder. Find a mental health professional that you are comfortable talking with and trust. Counseling is just as important as medications and if you find the right professional, he or she can help you make order out of your chaos. And by the way, when starting on medication, be patient and always tell your doctor about any or all reactions (if any) you have to the medication and if it makes you feel "worse" tell the doctor, you are the only one who can truly know if it's the right medication for you.More Questions and Answers
