Actually, with all due respect, cdf-rom is partially correct. Casein and whey are very different proteins. While they are both derived from milk, they have very different properties.

In a nutshell, casein is a slow-digesting protein. It's often referred to as the "7-hour" protein because it can take as long as 7 hours or more for the body to fully digest it. Whey on the other hand, is a fast-digesting protein. Hydrolyzed whey, for example, can be digested as quickly as 45 minutes!

I think casein is the major (if not only) protein in milk, so whey protein and casein protein may be the same thing. (Doublecheck me on this-- look up the definitions of when and casein.) Read the labels carefully. Otherwise, you may just have to try them and decide which one you like the best.
