What's involved in a TMJ consult?
Question:
Answers:
If you are going to an Oral Surgeon, he may be very involved and thorough with the exam. He'll do through your medical history, dental exam, do an occlusal analysis, maybe manipulate your jaw, palpate your muscles and maybe use a Doppler. If your are in pain right now, it may be uncomfortable when you see him/her. But then again, pain depends on your personal threshold. Set aside maybe an hour of sitting on the dental chair.
