Going on day2 of my vasectomy, how much bruising & swelling is normal?

I have fairly strong bruising and a small swelling behing the puncture point. No real pain just dullness and taking tylenol. My pamphlet says there should be no swelling behind the puncture point so now I am a bit freaked. It has been just over a day. I figure if anything was very wrong i'd have some major pain but hardly any pain at all right now. My doc is away for 3 days so not sure if I should see anyone or just assume bruising and slight swelling is normal for some people.

Bruising and swelling depends on the man. But in order to reduce this, you need to keep your scrotum on ice- frozen peas work quite well. Also, are you wearing a scrotal supporter? It is important to keep the testicles well-supported, especially when you are walking around.

My husband had his vasectomy about 9.5wks ago. He experienced both the bruising and the swelling and all was fine. In fact, they told him to expect that and it was in the paperwork. I didn't read this site, but it's all about vasectomy, maybe it will ease your mind.
