StudentMD and Lana gave a pretty good explanation and description. Pain from appendicitis is due to the appendix becoming obstructed and distended.

Nausea, vomiting, no desire to eat, vague pain around your belly button, and subsequent migration of sharp pain to the right lower abdomen (this can vary according to certain factors such as pregnancy), fever. If not appendicitis these symptoms can be many other rather serious conditions.

If you even suspect that there is something wrong with your appendix, go to the emergency dept. DON'T WASTE TIME WONDERING.

I want to add one thing, if your appendix actually burst, you may actually feel LESS pain for a short time, because like I mentioned above the pain is due to distension. THIS IS NOT A SIGN THAT THINGS HAVE GOTTEN BETTER, BUT WORSE. Ruptured appendix can be life threatening. Don't guess, just get seen. I hope you are already on your way to the ER.

The pain is in your lower right abdomen. I was doubled over(fetal posistion) for hours before I went to the ER. Upchucked a few times too.

I remember when I was in the emergency room, the doc pushed on my stomach on the left side, pushed pretty hard, and when he let go, I came up off the gurney. I wanted to take his head off.

I think they call it rebound tenderness. Trust me, if you do this, or have someone do it for/to you, and it hurts like hell, it probably is your appendix. Get medical attention immediately.

I am wanting a tummy tuck. any recommendations in KC area and whats the cost?

Appendicitis can feel like a sharp pain in the lower right abdomen, and sometimes near the navel. Some specific physical tests that a doctor might do include straight leg raises -- if the right leg raise elicits pain, that's a sign of appendicitis.

If you're suspicious of appendicitis, you need urgent care. A burst appendix can spread inflammation all around your abdomen.

Has anyone tried Ultra 90? Does it REALLY work with no exercise?

Pain in your right side, sometimes it can reflect to your leg or back, confusing you about the symptoms. You can also feel sick and vomit, slight fever may appear. When appendix bursts, the sharp pain may suddenly pass for some time but then very high fever appears shortly, coz your abdomen gets inflamed. I think, you know what outcome it can lead to. You can try one simple test. Lie down on the floor, be straight, on your back. Cough as intensely as you can - one or two times. If your appendix is inflamed, you will feel sharp pain in your right side. Or better, don't experiment, go and get checked up as soon as possible.

Here's a simple test. When my son had appendicitis, the doctor told him to rise up on the ball of his feet (on tiptoe) and then drop down on his heels. When he did that, it hurt him on the lower right abdomen. The doc said, "Yep, let's get a CAT scan." Not long after, that appendix was out.
