Is it possible to become pregnant by an HIV positive male and not get infected?

Question:

Answers:
yes there is a very expensive scientific way of "washing" the sperm negating the risk of exposure to HIV

Other Answers:
WOW girl, why would you have sex with an HIV-POS?

Possible, but rather unlikely that you nor the baby would not be affected.

Too risky to play with your life not to mention a child's life like that.

you will get infected so will your baby. why would you do this .you should never have sex or unprotected sex with a HIV person LET ALONE HAVE A BABY YOU ARE SIGNING YOUR OWN DEATH WARRANT.

yes its possible but if u get tested it sometimes takes up to a year to come out on the test wether u have hiv or not and ur baby can have it, y would u do that for. i wish u luck

YES

It's impossible. You and your baby will catch the virus. I hope this is only something you were considering. Use protection. Or better yet don't risk having sex with someone who is HIV positive. Even condoms aren't 100% effective. God I hope you only were thinking about having a baby and aren't already pregnant.

I really wish a lot of the kids who already answered this would have been easier on you. There are alot of mean answers to your question already.

I do agree with those who said that if it's something you're considering, you should definately avoid it. I worry that it's something you found out after the fact. If you did, go get tested, but before you do, make sure you have a support group in place and whatever you do, look into some kind of counseling.or recommend this to the person you are asking for if its not you.

Best wishes ok?

Hi my prayers are with you, I hope that neither one of you are infected.

no,because the virus is in his body fluid.the female will get the virus, then the baby will also get infected.

YES, the infection does not affect his sperm count. The virus is very active in any kind of body fluid. Please don't do it to yourself

COMMON SENSE

Yes it is, but probably very unlikely. It not everyone that is exposed to HIV is infected. For example, there was a woman in africa that had sex for money with 100s or 1000s of men, many of them HIV+ but she has never been infected. And as far as people saying the baby is infected. At this time it is not known if the sperm itself caries the HIV virus, but even IF the mother was infected that doesn't mean the baby will be too.
See my answer to your other post.

again, Red Cross and other places I have gotten HIV prevention training from

I hope you're being careful and taking care of yourself.

It is absolutely possible to get pregnant by an HIV+ man & not get infected.

Some people may have been exposed to HIV many times and never became infected. Mucous membranes may have been intact & strong, there were no T-cells in teh area to infect, there was bacteria, acids or enzymes in your vagina at the time that killed the virus.

Obviously it's best to always use a condom and avoid worrying about infection.

HIV does not attach itself to sperm. It travels in semen along with the sperm.
