Our GENOTYPE is Ao however. If you don't understand that, it means that though the phenotype is A, both my father (her grandfather) and her father are phenotype o, meaning their genotype is oo-- which is not dominant-- anything with o other than o will be expressed as A or B.
Example: Mother is A, father is B, child could be A, B, or AB. The rhesus factor is determined by it's presence (+) or lack (-). I have a postive rhesus factor, while my daughter does not (-), therefore she could give me a blood transfusion, but I couldn't give blood to her because her body would make antibodies, attacking the rhesus factor in my blood-- which is foreign to her body. This is why Mothers with (-) blood factors have to have a rhogan shot if their partner/baby's father have (+)-- so that their bodies will not make antibodies to attack their child's blood, should it be (+) as well.
