You absolutely do not have to suffer from chronic depression! Antidepressant medications are a lot more sophisticated than they were years ago and have helped countless people regain their lives.
Talk with a doctor and get a treatment plan started. If your dr. won't listen to you then find another one. Find one that will help you. Get started TODAY. If you had a broken foot you'd get medical help, right? Depression is a medical condition.just like any other.
Antidepressants usually take a couple weeks to kick in, although most people I know that are taking them say it didn't take that long.
Don't believe that depression is something you just have to 'deal with'. It isn't. There is nothing wrong with seeking help and getting medication to make things better for yourself.
Good luck!

You cant cure that on your own. It is a chemical imbalance. You have to see a doctor and he/she will prescribe something appropriate.
If you are depressed then you're not dealing with your emotions. You need to not hide everything and come clean with how you feel about some things. You know you're a great person and you can't let yourself think otherwise. Things may be going wrong, but it'll be okay! good luck! get meds if necessary!
Find something to do that you enjoy to take your mind off of bad thoughts. There is no cure for depression and medicines only help some people, but nobody I know. Its a life long battle keep your head up.

You create your own mental attitude and outlook on life. drugs may help some people, but for most of us, it's not even necessary.
What are you doing when you feel depressed? If you are sitting around the house listening to sad music and writing bad poetry and feeling sorry for yourself, you're just pulling yourself into a downward spiral.
Get off your butt, get outside in the fresh air and sunlight. Find something to do outside. Enjoy the great outdoors and appreciate its beauty. Go fishing, go swimming. Volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Volunteer at your local shelter. Heck, find an old person that needs some yard work done, and offer to mow their lawn for free. Doing good things for people makes you feel better about yourself, and also makes you feel grateful for what you have. Being out in the sunlight really and truly helps depression.
