Mood swings and hormones.how to deal with that?
Question:
HOW OFTEN is acceptable? Because i go through emotional roller coaster once a week for sure. But in the beginning when i started to date my BF i was very predictable and smooth. Now if i do not like something I can either snap or not talk and be mad inside. It's so irritating.sometimes i really cannot blame it on my period!i wanna enjoy my life.but it seems like something happens inside and i feel grounded and irritated and it just spoils good day and my relationships.
i wonder how others overcome it for their own good?!
Answers:
Well first of all, your hormones are fluctuating all month, not just around your period. Ovulation can cause mood swings as well. The best thing I can suggest is you go to you OB GYN and ask if she can do a blood test to test the levels of hormones. There is testosterone (yes even in women), progesterone and estrogen and they all have to be balanced. There are many herbal remedies at your health food store as well. Exercise and good whole foods helps too. Many alternative health practitioners think that pre-packaged unnatural foods make the situation for women's hormones far worse. Try eating more fruits, veggies and grains. Most importantly, try to not take your moods out on your boyfriend. Think before you speak. If you don't, it could ruin your relationship. Good luck!

OMG, you just described me all the way! I think we have PPMD. It makes you feel like you are crazy and you can't help the mood swings. I went on Paxil and it totally helped. The only downfall is that it releases a hormone that also causes you to gain weight. To avoid the weight gain take Fish Oil with it. This counteracts the weight gaining hormone. I'd take the fish oil with every meal. THe good part about it is the paxil will help your mood and the fish oil contains omega 3 with helps with memory, concentration, and weight loss too!

PMS acts in different ways for different people. With age, the mood swings increase - over 35 --things can make you go psycho!! Some women end up taking antidepressants. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she says.
Hormone inbalances are not to be laughed at..
I have one myself i was put on medication to control it-- although it's not the only answer. Diet has a great part to play-- eat lots of fish and veggies-- the good old fashioned 'brain food' and vitamins works wonders for me
Also caffeine is an awful combination- it causes anxiety and mood swings if u drink lots of coffee cut it right down and above all exercise it boosts seratonin levels
