I personally have anxiety and well at first I was in counseling and she ( my counselor) suggested that I mayhave it, then I had to go to my family doctor and he checked me over and then diagnosed me and prescribed me some meds.

Your family doctor, he/she can give you some techniques for dealing and/or write out a prescription that may help. Also they may refer you to a counselor that can also help you deal with anxiety especially if you suffer panic attacks.
I would go to my MD first, tell him the situation and let him refer to a specialist if needed. Maybe you need a psychiatrist, maybe you need blood pressure meds, maybe you need to lose weight. Your MD knows you bettr and would be better able to help you. Godd luck!
