Sometimes severe Bipolar Disorder or Manic Depression can turn into Schizophrenia if psychosis and delusional tendencies are exhibited. The origins and the disease itself have been a mystery to researchers for decades. The science of treating and understanding mental illness is in its early stages right now, compared to the knowledge we have about other parts of the body.
Most Schizophrenics are non violent and pretty much afraid of their own shadow. The mentally ill are actually LESS likely to commit ANY type of crime than their mentally healthy counterparts.
