If you have extreme swelling in the lower body and shortness of breath after light activity, what's wrong ?

Question:

Answers:
Well, those symptoms that you described can be symptoms of a lot of diseases. For example it is indicative of CHF (Congestive Heart Failure), which can be confirmed by your PMD by ordering a Chest X-ray or a lab work BNP. Also it can be DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) whis is a clot formation which can be very dangerous. So these are the only things that maybe wrong but only your doctor can confirm what you have. I hope this helps.

Other Answers:
could be many things. see a doctor

Edit: DVT wouldn't cause shortness of breath. That's a big reason they're dangerous: they're asymptomatic.

See a doctor.

that you havent seen a doctor.
go see one, your condition does not sound too great.

i don't know but i say you should see a doctor ASAP

You really should see a doctor. There are many more questions that need to be addressed, like past medical history and how long you have had theses symptoms. However, it may be right sided heart failure. See a doctor soon, if that is the diagnosis and it's treated earlier you may just need a diuretic like lasix (a water pill).

The swelling is probably an alergy that your have. The shortness of breath after light activity is probably just in your mind.I am not a doctor but im just answering questions.

your dad may have CHF or Con jested Heart failure. It causes swelling in the legs, ankles and feet. It is a very serious disease. your dad can be put on a "water Pill" be careful with the water pill because it can take potassium out of his body, he will be put on a supplement.

Please go to mayoclinic.com for more info on CHF

It is likely right sided heart failure.the question is why? Has the patient ever had a heart attack? Any valvular disease. It is not always just a water pill to do the trick, sometimes surgery is needed, sometimes it is a combination of things. This person should be evaluated immediately.
