30 lbs in six months is VERY doable and a sensible goal--unlike most of the goals of those who post here!That's about 5 lbs a month or a little over a pound a week.
Start with some mild exercise like walking for 20 minutes and work your way up. Add in some strength training a few times a week. Cut your food intake in half or less; you can also use a meal replacement shake for one meal a day.
