Sudafed will not help. It is a decongestant. What you need is an antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin (loratadine).
I'm not sure why, but my pharmacist strongly encouraged me to NOT use Visine or similar products. If you want an effective, quick-acting eye drop, you could try Patanol, although it is only available by prescription.
