If you overuse them, it's difficult to stop. I had to take them away from my stepson because he wouldn't quit. Same thing with his asthma inhaler.

As long as you follow the directions on the bottle, I think you are okay. But for one day tho, try to not use the eyedrops. Do your eyes become considerably dry-- so dry that your vision is blurry and your eyelids stick? Then you have a problem. In this case, over a long period of time, lessen the amount of eye drops you use until you don't need them anymore.

I know that it is possible to be "addicted" to the red-eye drops. If you use those for more than 3 days in a row, your eyes become dependent on the drops. If you do OR don't take the drops after 4 days, the sclera of your eyes stay red, and get redder. The only way to cure it is to sleep ALL DAY. At least that's the way it is for me..
