someone please help me out with my hip pain?
ok.im a runner. mid distance (800m - 5k).
so, basically about 1.5 months ago, i severely hurt my hip during a speed workout. It hurt everytime i put my foot down or put pressure on it. I thought it would get better. Its been a month and a half and I havent ran since then. Its definitetly getting better, but cross country season is starting and i would love to start running soon. My trainer just tells me to ice and stretch.
Anyone else have any other ideas? PLEASE help me, I am so desperate!

OMG I HAD THE EXACT SAME THING! I stress-fractured both of my hips during XC season! Please get an MRI/bone scan to see if it is a stress fracture. If it is a stress fracture do not think you can tough it out. it just makes it worse! Just sacrifice missing the beginning of the season. Trust me, running for 5 miles a day in severe pain is complete hell. :( You don't want to do that. By reading your question, it sounds very similar to what I had. I really hope you don't have a stress fracture. But just take my advice and get a bone scan or MRI.
I am pretty sure you have a stress fracture. so please just listen to this advice: Don't run if it is not completely healed! You will regret not waiting if you re-injure yourself. And you won't have to wait much longer, so hang in there! Good luck I hope you heal fast!

How did you hurt it? Did you fall or move wrong? You could have dislocated it, possibly. Maybe it's the piriformis muscle that you pulled which is in the glute (buttcheek). Does it hurt in the butt too or just the side hip? At this point after 1.5 months, you should be doing heat, moist hot packs. I would check in with the doctor, you might need some therapy on it such as ultrasound, tens, or possibly massage, maybe even a chiropractor if you misaligned something in the back that you are just feeling in the hip, might be your pelvis is out of whack.an exercise stationary bike for disabled who remain in a chair and pedal with the feet?
Yeah, you should probably see a Dr. A few x-rays can't hurt, just to make sure..you don't want to re-injure it.do you think that you eat right?
I'm sorry to tell you this but you are screwed. The hip is a complex joint and is very slow to heal if you injure it. You are going to have to skip this season of cross country. If you don't you will get injured even more. We are talking at least a couple more months of recovering, here.sounds like you have sciatica. this is inflammation of the main nerve in your lower back which can make your hip,butt cheek and leg hurt terribly.you need to see a doctor for treatment.they can give you pain meds
