about my period.?

do i have to alternate between pads and tampons

I want to find a doctor to remove my ganglion cyst, a hand surgeon in the los angeles area but of course canno

Answers:
Personally, I prefer to use tampons during the day and pads at night. You don't have to do that, strictly speaking. However, the vagina is "self-cleaning" and letting it clean itself out after having all of the discharged material stuffed up inside it all day seems like a good idea to me. If you do use just tampons, though, be sure not to leave one in for more than 8 hours before changing it.

First, igonre all the mean people ok. No, you do not have to alternate. Use tampons they are the simplest and cleanest. You can change them every 4-6 hours depending on flow.just don't forget that you have it in.you shouldn't feel it at all and it's easy to forget that it is even there. If you need to, wear a pad at night for extra absorbtion.

In a beauty context what is 'getting your colours done'?

Healthwise, yes you should. You shouldn't leave a tampon in more than eight hours, and don't go: tampon, tampon, tampon. It can dry out your vaginal walls increasing your chance of getting TSS and small cuts in the vagina. Even if you only go an hour or two without a tampon, it's better than just using tampons.

If you'd REALLY not like having to deal with your period every few hours, have you heard of menstrual cups? They're old news but have recently become more popular. It's a tiny little silicone or natural rubber "cup" that you put inside you to catch your menses. All you have to change it is every TWELVE hours! They're also reuseable so you're not filling up dumps with tons of menstrual product waste a year. And it saves you a lot of money in the long run. Kinda neat huh? Not for everyone, you have to be really in touch with your body and comfortable with yourself. But I will provide links below to the three brands I know of.

No. If you want you can use tampons on your heavy days, and pads on you light days. That is what I do. You can do anything that you want. Use pads over night, not tampons for the risk of TSS.
