Elevate the affected ankle, apply an ice pack to prevent or reduce swelling. If necessary, take an anti-flammitory pain pill such as tylenol or ibuprofren. After the swelling is reduced, wrap ankle in an elastic (ace) bandage and avoid putting a lot of weight on it. If you have other concerns, contact your doctor.

The condition is a lack of something, otherwise the body would properly function. You probably want to remedy the symptoms, but also get to the roots of the problems to prevent it from happening in the future.

At first one has to take care of the pain and give the body a rest. That is, not walking on this ankle but resting it for some time!

Pain killers tend to have side effects, helping one thing and causing more.

Ice can damage tissue when left on for too long.

I would use Hypericum Perforatum (health food store, milk sugar base only) for pain.

I would place 2-4 pills in one ounce of water in a dropper bottle, and take a drop under my tongue every few seconds until the pain goes down. Then less and less often, e.g. every 5 minutes, 10, 15, 20, 30, 60 etc., but at least 5 times a day for weeks to build the strength of the body, nerves and immune system!

I like to add a bit of apple cider vinegar to the remedy and some brown sugar to taste. Makes it taste more like apple juice.

For the pain the Dinshah color Indigo can also be used. More info at http://www.biochakra.com.

When the pain is down, I would use the Dinshah color Scarlet and/or Calcium Fluoride (health food store)to strengthen the ligaments to that spraining in the future is minimized or prevented! This remedy can be mixed in with Hypericum. Some do not mix them, but I have had good results doing it. However, you my want to make the remedy fresh every day, and less if less is needed.

You should be fine after some days, I guess. Also, add flax oil to your diet, 1 table spoon in the morning, to keep the weight or loose weight, in the evening to gain weight. It helps tremendously to keep your joints in good shape or even get them in shape!

iv spranged my ankle 5 times and the last time i was in a boot so just keep ice on it stay off of it as much as possible and after ice you should use a heating pad and then after that sock it in hot water that you can stand

Ice is the best treatment rather than heat. Stay off your ankle for some time. While you are relaxing elevate your ankle so the blood flows evenly.

You will need to take it easy for about 3 months. Your dr will be able to guide you more as everyone has different needs. Make sure you see someone cause it could be more than a sprain like pulled muscles or even tears.

Just take it easy, it can be a while before you can go back to exercising. Take up pilates and other strengthening exercises after recovery so you can build up your muscle strength around that area.
