as long as there isn't a short in the wiring of the blanket. If you're talking about a heating pad, that is a different story. Never fall asleep while using a heating pad. I took care of a man in the hospital who fell asleep wtih his foot on a heating pad. he ended up with such sever burns on his foot, that they ended up amputating his leg from the knee down!
