Remember to always stick to your guns for your reasons and never feel like you have to explain yourself to anyone.

You only get B12 from meat, fish, eggs , etc or an injection or sublingual tablet. And it's a vital nutrient. Lack of B12 has lasting health effects, from anemia to stomach cancer.

If you are trying to transition with a household try finding favorite recipes for all involved and have a taste off. This book can be found at Barnes and Noble or online.

Read up on nutrition, because regardless of what omnivores try to tell you, anemia is rare in vegans. Protein usually isn't a problem if you eat a wide variety of foods, especially beans, grains, soy (people can be unhealthy in any way of eating); B12 is in fortified cereals, soy milk, nutritional yeast, etc.; calcium is in soy milk, leafy greens, calcium-set tofu, and some beans, etc. I would just read books such as Becoming Vegan, Being Vegan, The China Study, and go to sites such as http://www.pcrm.org or http://www.veganforum.com to learn more.
