Acid reflux?

Question:
What is the best thing I can take for my Acid reflux? I wake up in the middle of the night with it, hurts so bad I cant get back to sleep for hours.

Answers:
From one army wife to another.I had the same thing a while back (could it be the stress?!) I finally had to go the doctor since it was interferring with work and sleep. Thankfully, I didn't have acid reflux but what they call H-Pylori. It's a bacteria and is easily treated. The can check you for it with a simple blood test. I took Prevacid and pushed tons of water and now it's gone. Here's a link to some more info about it. Good luck!

My husband takes tums.

you can try an over the counter medication like xantac. if that doesnt help go see your doctor about prevacid, nexium, or prilosec.

I guess you could take any over the counter medication. My grandmother had a home-remedy. To take one tea spoon of apple-cider vinegar. I know it sounds crazy, but it works!

My best advice is to "learn" why you are troubled with it in the first place? You probably know. the way you eat, or what you eat. I read books from Sandra Cabot, author of the Liver Cleansing diet, since my dad was very ill of a liver condition. I learned so much, and I tried the diet myself. I have not have acid reflux since then. check it out. http://www.liverdoctor.com/

Prilosec is one of the best. Remember not to eat at least 1-2 hours before you go to bed, this can help with the symptoms too.
