What are the different things that could cause trouble with one's leg??

For the past 5 years or so, I've had great discomfort in my right leg. If I stand for any length of time, it literally burns (on the top part, between the knee and the groin) The best way to get some relief is by walking around. I can't stand very long before this happens! This also occurs through the night while I'm in bed. Whether I'm standing, sitting or laying down, it happens to some degree. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?? All doctors I've brought this up with aren't able to come up with a satisfying diagnosis, unless you agree with this one thing: some of them say it is 'sciatic'(?) and is connected with my lower back pain. I explain to them that my leg troubles me constantly, even when my back doesn't bother me. Does this matter? Is it still sciatic?? If so, what does this mean, and what can be done about it??

Answers:
First, all of your nerves going to your legs come from your spinal column. (back bone) There are tiny openings on each side of each bone disc in your back. These openings are called "foramen" sometimes there could be a build up of calcium around the opening and put pressure on the nerve when you are standing or laying down. Yet sitting and moving does not allow a continuous "pinch" to occur so you feel relief.
Sciatica is also a very strong possibility and again it is another type of nerve problem.

What I would do If it were me. Go back to the doctor and TELL him, don't ask TELL HIM you want to see a neurologist. He can not refuse to let you see another doctor.
"It would not be in the best interest of the patient to refuse an evaluation"

An MRI would also be most helpful in this diagnosis

Can you give me a frame of reference for a CA 27.29 test result?
