can you change the time that you take your birth control pill?

Question:
i've been on the pill for years. i usually take it at night, but the last couple of days i forget and have to take it the morning. i think i'm ok in regards to protection. (I missed the first active pill in the pack and had to take it the next morning. then last night forgot to take pill 2 so took it this morning, so tonight i have to take pill 3) But I wonder if I could take pill 3 right now instead of my regular time. Can you change the time that you take the pill?

Answers:
take pill 3 at the regular time and try to get back on schedule. Use a back up method of birth control for the next couple of days just to be safe. You should always take the pill at the same time because the pill works by keeping your horomone levels steady, if you take them at different times each day the levels will not be right and you could become pregnant.

Other Answers:
Perhaps you should switch methods to an easier one. I would suggest Ortho Evera (once a week patch) or the Nuva Ring (once a month insert).
