What can I do if my hands are really dry and cracking and peeling? It happened in like 1 day?

Question:
I've put lotion on my hands several times a day. Ive tried vaseline and everything. They are so sore and everytime I bend my thumb the skin at the base of it cracks even worse and its painful. I think it might have started one day when I cleaned at work but I used those yellow rubber gloves for washing dishes and I've used them before so I don't know. I haven't changed soaps or lotions so I don't know what it is. I have had good skin up to this and now its also starting on my toe. I don't know what it is and its driving me nuts. Do I need to go to the doctor or is there something I can get for it?

Answers:
visit your doctor it could be anything.

Other Answers:
try some Curel lotion twice a day. If it doesnt work go to the doctor.

Don't wash you hands too often. Also use less soap. Get an Aquaus cream to re-hydrate your skin. Avoid cold dry air and be patient

Forget the products you find in the lotion section. Go to skincare (where you find all the wrinkle creams and acne medicines) and get some Cetaphil Cream (Not the lotion, get the hand cream or the cream in a jar). You will see an immediate difference. It will look very expensive until you use it and find out that not only are you not wasting your money like with lotions but that it takes very little to do the job.

huskers lotion it looks weird but works at work I wash my hands probaily a 1000 times a day they take about a day to feel better

I would go to the Doctor! you could have just contact dermatitis or it could be Eczema or some type of skin infection. Be safe and get that checkd out! In the mean time try an over the counter hydrocortisone cream or ointment and keep the hands moisturized as much as possible.

Curel Lotion is good.
ALSO remember to drink enough water as this will help keep your skin, which is the bodies largest organ, hydrated.

the only pereson you should listen to is a doctor. he could tell you more about it
