Breathing problem during yoga?

Question:
during yoga , as i breath inside , instead of inhaling the air ,my lungs seems to block it. and instead of going to lungs ,it goes to my belly.

can u people help?

Answers:
During a full breath, it's important for the breath to go into your belly as well as your lungs.

I would suggest laying down flat on your back so you can really focus on where the breath goes. You might try placing a hand on your belly and another on your chest. As you breathe in slowly, imagine the air going into your belly first, making that hand rise, then up through your lungs, making the other hand rise, then up through your throat. With the exhale, imagine it going down back through your body the other way, as if you're deflating slowly and evenly like a balloon.

Sometimes it's just a matter of focus. Hope this helps. Remember to be patient with it, some people take longer than others and this is *definitely* ok. Just work at your own speed. Namaste! :)
