I've got a sore tooth :o(?
Over the last couple of days I've been having a bit of pain from one of my bottom left molars (3rd one from the back). It's not a really bad pain, just a bit of an ache which seems to come and go, it doesn't seem to be particularly related to anything I do (eg. eating/chewing).
I've had a look at the tooth in the mirror and it looks fine, I can't see any cavities in it or anything like that, but when I run my tongue over it there's a slightly sharp area on the tooth. This tooth has had a fissure sealant put on it, but that was about 15 years ago.
I've never had a cavity before (I'm 24 now), so I don't know what pain from a cavity feels like. But I can't see any cavities in the tooth so I don't THINK it's that. I don't have a dentist just now, so I'm kind of hoping the pain will just go away.
What's the most likely problem with the tooth? And is there anything I can do about it?
in one work out session whats is an alright amount of calories to lose?
Answers:
sounds like the classic symptoms of a cavity. some of the worst cavities, I work on, are the ones that form deep under the pits and fissures of teeth. They are merciless leaving the top of the tooth looking beautiful and ripping out the structural integrity of the dentin below.
The still surprise me to this day every now and then
Go take care of your tooth already.

Sounds like you may have chipped your tooth. I suggest if the pain continues, that you go see your dentist.
probably best if you go to a dentist, sounds like aside from the problem w/the tooth you may have an infection.
If i were you i'd register yourself with a dentist as soon as possible!
It might be an abcess just under your tooth or it might be your wisdom teeth coming through cos I'm 22 and mine are just coming through and cos of the pressure they are putting on my other teeth I get the pain in my back there and my jaw.
There isn't really anything you can do about it until you properly know what it is because it could be your jaw, tooth root, gums or anything! DOn't worry and just get it checked out
do you still have your wisdom teeth? It could be them shifting in your mouth. Or it could be the wisdom teeth coming in and causing the pain.
Other options:
Chipped tooth
Cavity
Gingivitis
In all cases, I would suggest visiting the dentist. Wisdom teeth can come in crooked, and if thats the case, the pain will get worse.

How long has you been to see a dentist? It could be a cavity, an infected tooth or a cracked tooth. Good luck.Source(s):
