All of those answers are excellent. A lot of people don't realize that an apple will make you more alert than coffee.

This may sound trite but try to start meditating a few minutes a day. It's really hard at first but if you'll just keep at it a couple weeks, focus on your breathing and when your mind starts to wonder, reel it back in you'll find it carries over into other aspects of your life. When I first started meditating, I had to hear something in the background so I downloaded this "song" per say that is just waves rolling in and out with very light music in it. I focused on SEEING the waves come in and out, feeling the sun on my skin, smelling the ocean and so forth. It's really helped me out a great deal and it wasn't easy at first but I promise it will get easier if you'll stick with it. I have a much easier time focusing on schoolwork now (I'm a Senior in college double majoring so I have a ton of homework). What I did may not work for you but you can find something that does!
