Anyone ever had an S.I. Joint fusion?

I fell July 1, 02, fractured L-2 and L-5, Sprain of the Sacroiliac Joint. Been thru several procedures to determine severe pain. Many months of PT. Had 1st S.I. Joint injection.pain free for 1 week. Having 2 more injections, and if still in pain doing a fusion.

Are you getting a lumbar or SI fusion? I haven't actually heard of an SI fusion. Have you tried massage therapy? A good therapeutic bodyworker (not relaxation) may help you much more than injections or surgery. Less invasive (than surgery) is always preferable if possible. Could any of the SI area pain be coming from the lumbar fractures/nerve damage? If so, the fusion will not take the pain away. Food for thought - good luck!
