Is using a juicer harmful to your health?
My mother-in-law took one look at my new stainless steel juicer and declared that she read somewhere that using juice machines is not good. Please give me some helpful information to calm her fears. Thank you.

it's actually good for you. you get excersize!!I've been juicing for 30 years now and have never heard anything like this. Is the problem that one gets only the juice, and not the fiber content of the foods? As long as you have adequate fiber from other sources, this isn't a problem.

The argument against juices is that they don't carry the fiber of the whole fruit. In some ways, that pulp is good for you ;)Fiber is good for weight loss and heart health, as well as other stuff I'm sure.
It's not that big a deal and I appologize for your MIL.
Make sure your machine doesn't take the "pulp" or fiber out of the juice. Fiber helps lower your cholesterol, and makes you poop.
