Question:

Answers:
go to the website of your local college..most have a handbook outlining all the courses you will need, it probably varies a little from school to school and state to state.so that's my suggestion..look up your local college or the college you are interested in going to. Good luck! :)

Other Answers:
There're two ways. The first is by earning a bachelor's degree in the field. The other is by enlisting in the Army, the Navy or the Air Force, specifically signing up for the relevant school. The Army's school for x-ray technology and ultrasound technology is at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. With your military training and two years' documented practice on the job, you can take the certification exam and be certified as a Registered Technnologist by the American Registery of Radiologic Technologists. With that, you can apply to any state, pay your license fee, and be licensed to practice in that state.
It's a good job and employment prospects are projected to remain excellent for the forseeable future.

The Old Mick is also an RT - I got mine through the Army. I'm also an R.N. - and Uncle Sam paid for that schooling, too. Way cool - I could never have afforded it on my own!
