fasting is good once in a while.It must be done with caution and not too often. It must also be researched and done correctly. If you have any health problems, you should consult a doctor first.
Fasting will cleanse the colon and flush impurities from the body. A fast should be accompanied by enemas and by drinking at least a gallon of water a day. The idea is to empty and clean the colon and digestive system. Then you have to get it back working correctly. After the fast, it is important to eat yogurt to replace the friendly bacteria, or you will have the runs. You also need to eat food with fiber to get yourself regular again. To maintain the benefits, you should live on a lifelong high fiber diet. Maybe do a 5 day juice fast every year or two, and a one day purified water fast (no enema, just 24 hours of only water) every couple of months or so.
Again, be careful, and do your research first. You can find plenty of good fasting books at a health food store, and you can probably find them online too.

When you do this, you will be amazed how muh time we spend on preparing and eating food. Don't squander the time on anything else! Focus on God, and your relationship with God.
2. Sacrificing something crucial as a way of establishing your commitment to God. Once you perform a spiritual fast, your spiritual life will change forever.
Fasting does not force God to do anything. God cannot be bribed! Rather it changes YOU and makes you more aware of who God is, and what God's plan for you is!
