I am Hypothyroid myself-I have been for 15 years. The TSH test to determine Hypothyroidism can be performed in a lab or I guess now they can be performed at home, although I would not recommend it. Plan on paying up to $100 for the lab test. I have seen it between $60 and $85. The fluctuation is due to whether they perform the specialized TSH or the TSH FREE.
