Is my scale broken?

Question:
I got a new scale for my birthday- a Taylor digital scale (model 7075 8-03). I've been working out every day at Bally's, I'm eating correctly, drinking lot's of water. I recently added raisin bran to my diet- though I ate it tonight around 8pm, two hours after my workout. I put non-fat milk in it so I don't see the problem there. But my scale told me I was 223 when I came home from working out (Im 5'11 by the way). After I ate I was 227. I'm thinking- How did I gain 4 pounds by eating raisin bran and a 6" turkey sub on wheat? Hours later, I check the scale and I'm 226. Five minutes later I'm 227 again. I don't understand how my weight keeps jumping up and down. This scale is new so I don't know why it would be acting up. And suggestions or ideas?

Answers:
Weight fluctuates throughout the day. Like me, I am 5'5" and in the morning I will weigh around 106 and my weight will fluctuate between that # and 112 throughout the day. It has to do with the fact that you eat and drink liquids. It's fine. Don't worry- you did not actually gain 4 pounds in one day.

Other Answers:
it takes time for your weight to adjust, once a week should be enough.good luck.

If you really want to know whether you lose or gain weight, gain once a day, right after you wake up. so you may see are you lighter today compare with yesterday. don't gain too often that won't help and just create stress.
