Paranoid Stare?

I was the homecoming king of my 6A highschool. I could talk an eskimo out of his coat in a snow storm.

Now, I get so nervous talking to people I get head aches and my eyes get this paranoid stare that I can't shake.

I know people notice the stare and it makes them uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I am not the outgoing person I used to be. In fact, the only friends I have are from highschool and I suspect only hang out with me for old times sake.

My dad is a long term, full blown schizophrenic and I wonder if I am not "wandering" that way.

Any help?

Answers:
I think you should go see a state certified licensed therapist because they are the only one who can diagnosis weather you have schizophrenic or not and if you do they may have to put you on a medication, but only they can give the correct diagnosis. Do not lose hope. YOU CAN DO IT! YOU WILL OVERCOME THIS! Also, maybe you should tell your parent about this and if they do not take this seriously. Like I say before Go see a therapist on your own and do not fell ashamed of what you have because noone is 100 percent perfect in this world.

There is a genetic link in schizophrenia. I wouldn't freak out, but I would go and talk to your doctor. You already know that this is not normal for you. It's possible that you're just going through a strange phase in your life. Talk to your doctor and tell him/her your concerns.

THe stare you describe is evidence of a character trait that seperates you (and a few select others) from normal morons. BE VERY CARFUL! Now is the time that those who are without will see there only chance to gain leverage. Reality is, my friend, they look up to you and you should never ever let them down!

Smell my butt, getting close?

why does the sound come when we crack our fingers?

I was married to a schizophrenic and my son is now in his early twenties, he has just packed in his uni course and come back to me. He has always had lots of friends and gets on with lots of people, but he made no friends at uni and spent hours crying in his room alone.
I also worry that he is heading for a breakdown, but as he also does drugs this doesn't help.
My advice to you is keep talking to those who know you well, because you may need them in the future.
I don't think your friends are hanging around for old times sake, the same could be said of you couldn't it?
If you have family keep them close to, and be honest with them about your fears.
I wish you luck in the future- remember schizophrenics are often very creative people and often fun to be around.
Don't sell yourself short.
Take care.
