Hi, I got best answer for this before (the first bit) so someone thought it was worthwhile information and I think I'll continue to use it until people start being sensible about their body image and stop bowing to what they think they should look like.

There is no such thing as a safe quick weight loss. Diets and diet pills don't work they just act on the pituitary gland and make the body lose water (hence weight). It's good to exercise as anything which raises your pulse and makes you sweat is good. It may also be that you're not having enough calories as the body goes into "famine" mode if it doesn't get enough norishment and stores anything it does get as fat, rather than glucose. Every cell in your body respires and this uses energy, ie, food. Without enough energy, your metabolism slows and food is stored as fat. Incidentally, who says you need to lose weight and do you really need to lose the weight? The only thing guaranteed to get a body healthy (note I don't say "lose weight") is to exercise and eat a healthy, balanced, wide variety of foods plus the occasional treat in moderation (this stops any food becoming "naughty" and therefore craved). Please note that body muscle mass weighs four times more than body fat because the fibres are so much closer together. Some fat is important on the body though as it helps regulate hormonal levels in the body and prevents osteoporosis and other bone wasting diseases in later life. Some fat is important on women as too little can cause periods to stop and fertility problems. Women are designed differently to men and a totally flat stomach and no hips isn't healthy on a woman. The question to ask yourself is - do your clothes fit better and how do you look in a mirror - not how much do you weigh. If you think you look untoned, then incorporate some light weights (low weight, high repetitions) into your regime.

Additionally, I have friends who have taken up Pilates and although they never lost weight, their clothes looked fantastic on them, their posture improved and their entire bodies firmed up. I watched this happen. Pilates strengthens your core muscles (the ones that hold your skeleton in place) so correcting posture imbalances and making a slimmer shape. I believe that yoga also does this although I don't know anyone who has done this. Additionally, try dance (old style ballroom / salsa) as this is a fun way to tone up. Any excercise / activity that raises your heart rate and makes you sweat BUT IS FUN will ensure you stick to it and get fitter.

Additionally, drink lots of water. Lots of people eat when they are in fact thirsty. If you feel hungry, drink a glass of water first and if you're still hungry half an hour later, then eat. Eat sensibly and regularly and don't forget to eat breakfast (so named because it "breaks" the night's "fast"). Missing breakfast starts the day off badly as your body will just crave and store anything you eat later as fat.

Eat healthier, and start to exercise (assuming u haven't done so yet) remember to treat yourself to something small u want, or else you will give up :D. Make it small, and think positive. O and u don't always have to treat yourself to food but to also like getting your hair cut etc.

Rule of thumb: Shop around the outer edges of the grocery store. This is where you typically find meats, dairy, produce.

Bottom line, processed, pre packaged and convenience foods are loaded with added sodium, carbs, fat and preservatives. Try to stay away from bread, deli meats, and pasta. Deli meats are loaded with sodium, and bread and pasta, full of processed carbs. Eat natural! The weight won't magically disappear, but you will lose a lot of weight and you will be surprised how much better you feel without all of that crap in your system.

Oh, and drink LOTS of water (take your weight and cut it in half, that's how many oz of water you should drink a day).

What I do is I stop eating all the food with starch and sodium and acid in it. Sometimes you dont always have to just stop eating. Just start eating the right amount of servings and just do a little bit of excercise and you will see many results.If you are way over weight probably stay away from all of the sugars and things you know arent good for you.

To lose weight you must burn more fat calories than you ingest. You can do little things to boost your metabolism throughout the day. Drink ice cold water, or walk around the room a couple times, not fast or anything, but just that little bit of movement actually does speed up the metabolism. Also, spicy foods.stay away from salty foods, and of course fried foods and sweets. If you have a craving its better to give yourself a small taste than to fight the craving and wind up binging. Cut way back on soda.seriously, soda is really fattening. Also, you can hold in your stomach muscles when you are sitting watching tv or while you are taking those quick strolls around the room, and it will help. You should of course, plan healthier meals and do some formal excersices (I know I spelled that wrong.)

I eat better and exercise. Once I came to the conclusion that my metabolism wasn't what it used to be, I used the Tahitian Trim Plan 40 weight management system designed for women especially those 40 and over. Be aware of what you eat. Write down EVERYTHING you eat and why for a week. Soon, you'll start to see a pattern. Cut down on your portions, and eat healthier foods. For motivation, go to Value Village or some other cheap place, and buy yourself a pair of jeans in the size you want to be. Don't make it too drastic though! (Like if you're a size 14, don't buy size 2 jeans! Go from, say, 14 to 12 or 10.) Every day, mark where you can pull the jeans up to, and soon you'll find that you can pull them all the way up and button them! Good luck!

Since July of 2005 i have went from 296 to 223. My advice is to stop eating fried fast food, eating red meat which includes both cattle and swine, and start smoking or chewing nicotine gum. Eat more carbs and just be more active. I have no clue on how much you weigh but I'm telling you it works. You should cut out more Protein(eat 1oz of chicken or fish because your body still needs some good proteins per meal though). Why the nic? because the chemical not only suppresses hunger it is also a stimulant that will speed up your metabolism.

First off you want to start by setting up a goal of how much you want to lose and in what amount of time. It's pretty hard to go somewhere if you don't have any idea of where you are going. Then you want to start off with your portion control. Eat until you are satisfied not until you are stuffed. Then you want to get on some type of weight loss program and work out.
