The reason the generic drugs are cheaper is because the brand name drugs have to do all the research and testing required to obtain FDA approval. Most of the time, that difference will not altar the medication's ability to work the same as the name-brand one.There are times when your doctor may recommend the name-brand prescription because they've heard/read negative comments about the generic version's ability to work (or may interact with other meds).
